IN A LITTLE WHITE CHURCH-HOUSE

In a little white church-house,

'Neath the shade of a tree,
I was burdened with sin and
They were praying for me;
And I heard a voice whisper,
"Give me your heart,
Thru dark shadows or sunshine
I will never depart."
I fell upon my knees repenting of my ev'ry sin,
He washed away my sins that day and cleans'd my heart within.
There's a little white church-house,
'Neath the shade of a tree,
That is where my Saviour
Brought salvation to me.

In a little white church-house,
'Neath the shade of a tree,
There I met my dear Saviour
And He set my soul free;
And I heard His voice softly,
In tones so low,
Saying, "I will be with you
Wheresoever you go."
I've found His promise to be true as on my way I've trod,
I've peace without and peace within for I have peace with God.
In a little white church-house,
'Neath the shade of a tree,
There you'll find my Saviour,
Won't you go there with me?

RECITATION

Ah, the little white church-house
Has blossomed and grown
In the years that have passed
Since I claimed Christ my own;
But it has the same Saviour,
It has the same prayer:
That all who are sinners
Will find Jesus there!
