CAN ISRAEL BE DESTROYED?
Israel cann NEVER be destroyed by any nation or the devil and his demons. After the Lord calls His true churches up to meet him in the air (I Thess. 4:13-17), the man of sin will make a covenant with Israel to allow them to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem.
The covenant will be for seven years and, in the midst of the seven years (three and one half years after making the covenant with Israel), the man of sin breaks the covenant. Then he declares himself to be God: "...so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God" (II Thess. 2:4).
At this point, Jesus warned Israel:
During the great tribulation, more than half of the world's population will die. Some will die by the "sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth" (Rev. 6:8). Some will be "beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God" (Rev. 20:4). Some will die in the destruction of the city -- the exact number will be 7,000:
The city spoken of here is the city "where also our Lord was crucified [Jerusalem]" (Rev. 11:8).
No Israelites will be destroyed in the city. They are being cared for in her place in the wilderness (Rev. 12:14). There are many blessings coming to Israel -- so much so as is illustrated in Isa. 4:1-2 (please read). "The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose" (Isa. 35:1). (Please read Isa. 35:1-10). Something about the Dead Sea shall be desired by all Gentile nations: "...because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee" (Isa. 60:5). This happens in the first half of the tribulation and causes the great tribulation to start. The holocaust of World War II will be a picnic for Israel compared to the holocaust of the great tribulation. As Jesus said, "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be" (Matt. 24:21).
However, Israel comes through it, all twelve tribes. "...ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel" (Matt. 19:28). This will occur during the 1,000-year reign of Christ on earth. Almighty God has promised this to the nation of Israel. I am so glad that I was introduced to the true and living God. What He says He will do, He does! He created the heaven and earth (Gen. 1:1). It was so beautiful, "When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?" (Job 38:7). These were all heavenly beings. For them to shout for joy, the earth's beauty in the beginning must have equaled heaven. Jesus said, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up" (John 2:19). He did. He "spake of the temple of his body" (John 2:21). When others die who claim to be gods, they remain dead. God said Israel will be an everlasting nation and it will be. "And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God" (Gen. 17:8). Every true Israelite shall be saved: "And so all Israel shall be saved" (Rom. 11:26). Compare the true and living God to all others who are called "gods". The true God created heaven, earth, mankind, and everything else that exists. No other "god" can create anything. The true and living God prophesies thousands of years in advance and every prophecy comes to pass. In Isa. 53, the crucifixion of Jesus was prophesied in the year 712 B.C.; the crucifixion took place in the year 33 A.D. as recorded in Matt. 27.
