ONE BY ONE
One by one we're called away Many friends have gone before; Fayma Caraway Johns
To that bright land of endless day,
There to rest in our Saviour's love!
No more pain or sorrow bear
In that bright homeland over there
When we enter fair heaven above.
What a day of rejoicing when we all get home,
And our Lord wipes our tears all away!
We shall praise Him evermore
For on the cross our sins He bore
To save all who would His will obey.
They're waiting now on heaven's shore,
There to welcome me to that land.
Happiness awaits me there,
And all God's glory I shall share
When I reach heaven's bright golden strand.
What on earth can compare
With the joy I'll find there
When I cross o'er the dark mystic sea?
Do not weep when I am gone
For I shall not go alone:
Christ, my Lord, will be there guiding me.
