According To The Scriptures:
"CHRISTIAN" OR "HEATHEN"?

Churches that were once "Christian" are getting close to being "heathen" and idol worshippers. In the book of Revelation, God says that Jesus is outside of the last-day church. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock" (Rev. 3:20). This is at the door of the church of Laodicea.

During the Christmas season, there are decorated "Christmas trees" in many so-called churches. There are plaques of feminine-appearing angels with wings (angels are referred to in the masculine gender only, and they have no wings), so these are idols. To cut down a tree and deck it is the "way of the heathen" (Jer. 10:3). If you were to go into a heathen temple and they had decorated their temple with Scriptural verses, wouldn't you think that the heathen had converted to Christ? When you go into a church meeting place and see the "way of the heathen" or idols, who do you think they have converted to?

Sometimes you see a "fish" with the word Jesus on it. Jesus is never represented by a fish in the Bible. Dagon, the fish god, is represented by a fish. The fish is an idol. God is to be worshipped in spirit and truth (John 4:24).

Rom. 1:21-24a:

"Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man [Santa, etc.], and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up."

Exodus 20:4-5:

"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above [Jesus, angels, etc.], or that is in the earth beneath [crosses, etc.], or that is in the water under the earth [fish, etc.]:"

What then are idols? Anything made by man to represent religious things or beings. Examples: The so-called Christian flag, crosses, pictures of Jesus and others, Easter, so-called "Christmas", any holiday. God is a jealous God.

John 4:23-24:

"But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:  for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

Are crosses, pictures, flags, fish, birds, etc., "spirit"? Why not now lay aside the heathen and idol worship and worship God "in spirit and in truth"?
