According To The Scriptures:

THE MOST HORRIBLE SIGHT YOU'VE EVER SEEN!

As you begin to read this lesson, please go and stand before a mirror, and imagine what your body would be and look like if it had never been touched by sin! All the infirmities in and on our bodies are because Satan has caused them. But think what the bodies of mankind will look like when they have been completely separated from God and His mercy.
"And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched" (Mark 9:43-44).

"And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh" (Isa. 66:24).
What is "the worm" that is spoken of in this instance (Mark 9:43-44)? It is the resurrected body of a lost person. Proof:
"How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?" (Job 25:6).
"But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people" (Psalm 22:6). (The psalmist is speaking about Jesus.)

"Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel" (Isa. 41:14). (God calls Jacob a "worm".)
The body of man is a "worm". Jesus said "their worm" in Mark 9:44. "Their" is a possessive pronoun, meaning the "worm" belonged to them. "Worm" is singular, meaning one "worm", the body of the lost person.

False teachers say that Jesus, in Mark 9:43-48, was referring to the "valley of Hinnom", a place in the Old Testament. This cannot be true. The valley of Hinnom was a garbage dump where bodies of some were thrown and burned. But Jesus did not say "where the worms die not". The fires of Hinnom can be quenched. The fire (singular) of Gehenna (hell) cannot be quenched.

This is the future of every person who refuses to accept Jesus as Saviour:
"And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt" (Dan. 12:2).

"In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him" (Luke 12:1-5).

Think about it! Every secret, everything that was hidden from man will be revealed. Only faith in the shed blood of Jesus will keep this from happening to you. Stop now, repent and ask Jesus to forgive you and save you. He will.

In the Book of Revelation, John wrote:
"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works" (Rev. 20:11-12).
These people are dead, but they are standing at the Great White Throne of God.
"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire" (Rev. 20:15).

"And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name" (Rev. 14:11).

This is spoken about those who worship the beast, but the same is true about everyone who dies lost.
"There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out" (Luke 13:28).

"For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God" (Rom. 14:11-12).

This invitation is to people who are lost:
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matt.11:28).

"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation [accepting it], that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief" (I Tim. 1:15).

"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven" (Matt. 10:32-33).
Which will it be? A horrible body or one that is changed and fashioned like unto His glorious body (Phil. 3:21)? Heaven or hell? Rest or no rest? Satan or Jesus? The decision is yours!
