GOD'S SERMON OUTLINE 
 

God gave the most beautiful sermon outline regarding the birth of Jesus:

THE SEED
THE SELF
THE SIGN
THE SON
THE SACRIFICE
THE SAVIOUR

 

THE SEED
"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel" (Gen. 3:15).
The woman's seed could not have a man involved, so God was prophesying a birth without man (virgin birth).

THE SELF

The most beautiful message concerning the birth of Jesus is:

"And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together" (Gen. 22:8).

Many misquote this verse and say, "God will provide for himself a lamb", but the word "for" is not in this Scripture. Compare "provide himself" to:

"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us" (Matt. 1:23).

"...the church of God which he hath purchased with his own blood" (Acts 20:28)
The churches that can clearly read their doctrines from the Word of God are blood-bought. Hallelujah! I am a member of one of those churches.

THE SIGN

"Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God with us]" (Isa. 7:14).

It is no sign for a young woman (as some so-called Bibles say) to conceive. Most women who conceive are young. Only one virgin conceived the Son.

THE SON

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace" (Isa. 9:6).

You can know that any religious doctrine that denies that Jesus is God is a false cult. Just turn to Psalm 90:2:

"Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God."

REMEMBER: There is only "one Lord Jesus Christ" (I Cor. 8:6).

Jesus has always existed -- before earth or man existed. He was God the Son from Adam to the New Testament. He was Christ the Son of God from His birth in Bethlehem to the rest of eternity. He is "Jesus", "Christ", "the Son of God".  God never called an angel "God".

"Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee?...But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever..." (Heb. 1:4-8).
 
THE SACRIFICE
 
Mary was told: "(Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed" (Luke 2:35)? Mary had a Saviour: "And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord...my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour" (Luke 1:46-47). Mary was blessed among (not above) women: "And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women" (Luke 1:28).

How people ever began to pray to Mary as a mediator between God and men is beyond me! The Bible clearly states: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (I Tim. 2:5) -- not saints or fathers or Mary -- just Jesus! To be saved you must go to God in the name of Jesus -- only in the name of Jesus:

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6).
Jesus did not say, "I am a way." He said, "I am the (singular) way." Jesus is the only way -- it's Christ Jesus or perish! 

THE SAVIOUR

If you want to go to heaven, you "must be born again" (John 3:7).

"Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God" (I John 5:1).
The sad part is that most religious people do not believe that Jesus is Christ for they do not believe the record God gave of His Son:

"And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son" (I John 5:11).

To believe the record God gave of His Son, it is necessary to believe that the "life" God gives is "eternal life" (the believer cannot be lost -- i.e., "eternal security of the believer"). Jesus died to save you. He lives to forgive you. Trust Him today!
